Part of the usefulness of a recipe book is in the ability to actually understand what the author is trying to tell you. This book provides a useful overview of what a Mediterranean meal looks like and the typical food compositions of this style of eating. The book is broken down into meat, fish, salads etc, with a list of the recipes at the start of each section, as well as a comprehensive index which is very useful for finding a dish to make when trying to use up the last of the fennel/cabbage/anything left in the veg box.There is a wide range of dishes and so far, every dish I have tried has tasted great. There are also useful boxes of food prep if you are new to cooking or haven't come across a particular way of cooking before.This has become a new favourite resource and has resulted in our household doubling the amount of veg and salads we eat, and looking forward to our meals! - 1.0 out of 5 stars from Dee -- Definitely not for beginners : Disappointed. I’m not a beginner cook but am a beginner with Mediterranean diet so was looking forward to a good variety of recipes. The descriptions are very brief for beginners and with no pictures at all you need a good imagination to know what it’s supposed to look like. More than half of the recipes require a “One pot” which I had to look up, and is apparently a modern version of a pressure cooker and costs anything up to £300. So even if I had room in my small kitchen for one I wouldn’t be able to afford it. This is not made clear in the summary I read. It would have been a bit better if for each of the recipes the alternative cooking apparatus could have been mentioned ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 6, 2022 )

I have not lost an ounce, but my husband and I are eating like kings and finding great joy in the cooking. All of the cookbooks are useful in their own ways, bet this one is my go-to when I'm cooking for just the two of us. I have tried more than two dozen recipes, and they have all been delightful. I REALLY appreciate that the recipes are for two people, as the reason for buying it is to help my husband with a heart-healthy diet that actually tastes great! There’s a nice array of recipes that are authentic, easy to follow, uncomplicated and easy to prepare. Everything I've made from it has tasted delicious and is quick and easy to make. It uses ingredients that I almost always have on hand and the recipes are easy and fast.
